This is really worth the stop. It is easy in and out. Not far off the freeway. The water is shockingly clear. Chatting with other visitors, we are all in wonder at what discovering this place must have been like. If I had a wetsuit I would have gone swimming, just to say I had.

Very pretty place! Locals said it is a natural swimming hole, not man made. Lots of deep water divers there when I was there, small little swimming hole, have to share with many other people. To beat the crowd probably get there early in morning, popular place.

Great place to stop on the interstate when you're traveling through Interstate 40, especially in warm weather. One of the best parts about it is that it's completely free. If you have a dog, and take your friend for a swim right next door to the Santa Rosa pond.

The water was a beautiful blue and there are two main jump off points. There is also a stairway to the blue hole with about 10 steps or so. There's also a small section at the bottom of the stairs where you can stand in the water. Be careful because it's slippery. They had a life guard on duty but it's probably only for the summer months. It was crowded but most stayed out of the water because it was so frigid. Once you jump in, it's not that bad! It was about a 90 minute drive from Albuquerque and I didn't think it was worth the drive. We only spent 30 minutes there before we got bored.

81 feet deep! No lifeguard on duty, but occasionally a scuba diver will surface! 61 degrees cool early September. A spot to wade in the water's outflow for bare feet.

The water really is blue!
