The bathrooms were disgusting, which I don't understand because it's $5 per car for parking. You'd figure they would hire someone to keep the place clean. It was very crowded here, we visited in June. The water was super cold, but it was a nice swim. The stairs are slippery with algae, bring water shoes. A few picnic tables, limited shaded areas.
Great place to go to get scuba certified (you cannot just show up and pay....you must go with a group, pre-planned and including instructors). If you are prone to getting cold, consider the dual wet suit system to keep you warm. Wish they had t-shirts and souvenir items that say "I was scuba certified at Blue Hole". I was there March 2017 and they did not. They were thinking of adding this at some point.
Very beautiful and refreshing place loads of fun. Friendly ppl around
So much fun! I recommend it to everyone.
We paid the $5 fee, which apparently isn't a year-round thing. Possibly just the summer months? (Not entirely sure) Nonetheless, $5 is nothing to complain about when you get to experience the blue hole. Initially, I wasn't going to get in, I was just going to look while my wife jumped in. But when I saw the hole and got my feet wet in the super cold water, I went back to the car and put on my swimsuit. It was super relaxing, and we had a nice lunch while we dried off. It was such a good time.
